Does this plug into a wall socket or is it hard wired. Is cord coming off of the pulley the actual electrical cord?

It comes with a plug but you can cut off the plug if you want to have it hard wired. Yes, that is the cord coming off the pulley. The cord is attached to the light and is just wrapped around the metal part that hangs on the wall.
